Bridging Cultures,

As we gather through these pages from across continents and cultures, the International Circle of the Amis du Mucem continues to dialog for a better understanding in our interconnected world.

In this edition of our international newsletter, we celebrate the diversity of perspectives that our global community of Friends brings to our shared mission. From archaeological discoveries that rewrite historical narratives to contemporary artistic expressions that challenge our preconceptions, the Mediterranean continues to surprise and inspire us. The Mediterranean has always been a crossroads of civilizations—a space where ideas, traditions, and innovations have flowed freely across borders. Today, as our world faces unprecedented challenges, this legacy of cultural exchange becomes more relevant than ever. Climate change, migration, technological transformation, and social evolution are reshaping our societies. The Mucem's mission to explore these contemporary issues through the lens of Mediterranean heritage provides crucial insights into how humanity has adapted and thrived through change.

Our International Friends embody this spirit of global citizenship that flourishes in Marseilles : you are part of a movement that recognizes culture as a bridge between peoples.

You are very welcome in the International Circle of our Friends of Museum’s Society : let’s share ideas, events and, as a beginning, our newsletters !

AMAZIGH CYCLES (Ornements, patterns, designs )

From Wednesday April 30th to Sunday November 2nd

The exhibition will also offer an opportunity to explore the notion of 'permanent Berberism' and the contemporary transmission and circulation of Amazigh heritage within the wider diaspora, particularly in the realms of artistic creation and cultural expression. It will also address the recognition—and at times, the cultural appropriation—of this heritage in today’s global context.
